China-EU Humanities Arts Festival Education Alliance Established in Beijing

On June 27, the China-EU Humanities and Arts Education Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Alliance") was established in Beijing. Representatives of relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of relevant European countries in China, and representatives of dozens of well-known universities, enterprises, institutions and social organizations attended the meeting. Poly Performance Co., Ltd. participated in the launching ceremony of the alliance as a governing unit.

In the opening speech, Director Du Kewei, spokesperson of the China-Foreign Humanities Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education, delivered a speech to thank all sectors of society for their concern and support for the establishment of the alliance. He pointed out that it is the core purpose to build the alliance into a high-end platform for China-EU humanities and art exchanges, and extensively gather resources from all parties in China and Europe to contribute to the promotion of China-Europe humanities exchanges and art education.

Subsequently, Fang Jun, deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, fully affirmed the establishment of the alliance in his speech. He said that the establishment of the alliance is an important measure and useful attempt made by the Sino-foreign people-to-people Exchange Center to implement the "opinions on strengthening and improving people-to-people Exchange between China and Foreign countries" and the spirit of the National Education Conference. He pointed out that it is necessary to further strengthen the aesthetic education of young people, cultivate their humanistic quality, improve their communication ability, and help people to people exchanges. At the same time, Ma Qing, Cultural and Education Counsellor of the EU delegation to China, congratulated the establishment of the alliance and looked forward to the future development of the alliance.

At the founding meeting of the alliance, seven units, including the Sino-foreign Humanities Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education, Poly Performance Co., Ltd., Renmin University of China, the Central Conservatory of Music, and the Middle School affiliated to Tsinghua University, jointly signed the letter of intent on jointly promoting the work Plan of the China-EU Humanities and Arts Education Alliance. These include the holding of the China-EU Youth Humanities Art Festival, the release of the China-EU Humanities and Arts Education Development Report, the construction of the China-EU Humanities and Arts Education Practice Base, the China-EU Humanities and Arts Education Summit Forum, and the China-EU Humanities Exchange Concert.

In the "Thinking and Practice of China-EU Humanities and Arts Education and Exchange" forum, Chen Ke, General Manager of Poly Performance Co., Ltd., Xu Qingping, Dean of Xu Beihong Art Research Institute of Renmin University of China, Director of Xu Beihong Memorial Hall, and Meng Feixuan, Cultural Counselor of the Italian Embassy in China Actively discuss the theme.
The China-EU Humanities and Arts Education Alliance was jointly established by the Sino-foreign Humanities Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education and 28 schools, enterprises, institutions and social organizations that have expertise or characteristics in humanities and arts education and are enthusiastic about China-EU humanities and arts exchanges. Adhering to the principle of "openness and inclusiveness, equal dialogue, mutual assistance and mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation", the alliance aims to improve the aesthetic and humanistic literacy of young students, build a platform for the promotion of aesthetic education for young people, and promote cooperation between various relevant institutions in China and Europe, especially educational institutions in the field of humanities and arts, and build an open, inclusive and connotative international exchange and cooperation platform.
